Last month I couldn’t get to upload another entry for Album Gallery or the blog/comic overall because of IRL stuff; I apologize for not being as active that time.
Initially, I was going to draw something based off another album, but the end result didn’t feel as genuine as the previous two; fortunately, I found a few new songs that satiated my hyper-fixation needs! One of those comes from this album!
My road to “Falling for Robots and Wishing I Was One” by LØLØ
While drawing what was going to be the next entry, I was also a big fan of Yours Truly‘s “Back 2 U”, but I made my best to not repeat bands (at least not this early).
Listening to the song’s radio on Spotify, I got to South Arcade‘s “Unaware”, very 2000’s upbeat somewhat pop-punk-ish instrumentals mixing nicely with the usual teenage heartbreak story; I like these type of songs a lot!
They don’t have an album yet (but I just realized they have an EP I should listen later), so I got into that song’s radio and among many new favorites, it was “u turn me on (but u give me depression)” by LØLØ.
Calmer melody, more pop-oriented and whatever other adjectives I could mention to sound like an overrated pop music critic. I got a soft spot for these kind of songs about having trouble to fully overcome one’s feelings over a crush/lover ever since listening to “Undrunk” by Fletcher.
Back to LØLØ, I had a character from TMBD (original comic sequel to BU) in mind, but we are still far from that character’s reintroduction. Only after the 30th replay of the song, I thought of someone else who could fit it.
Listening
The album looped for two or three times before I started replaying my favorites:
- 2 of us
- u turn me on(but u give me depression)
- *snow in berlin*
- kill the girl
- i would fix u if i could
Among the many thoughts running through my chainsawed brain, “2 of us” reminded me of Denji and Makima from Chainsawman; the idea of not being able to hate someone who hurt you saddens me a little.
“*snow in berlin*” was the calmest song of the album, and now that I realize its title is in between asterisks, makes me think this was either the most important song for the artist (as asterisks are used to format bolds in some chat apps)along with “*thoughts from the shower*”, or that it was to make for a “silent” title? As the sounds that get described by captions in some movies.

Although “u turn me on(but u give me depression)” remains my favorite, I liked the melody of “kill the girl”, and also got a laugh after the lyrics mention that the girl she wants to kill is the one “inside of me that misses you” (first thinking it was about jealousy, I was getting scared at the levels of violence towards what seemed to be a love rival).
Drawing

In universe, Margot would be one of the characters that are less likely to listen to songs like the ones in these albums, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t connect (or deny that she connects) to the ideas in them.
Although I picture many songs from this album with their own movie sequence, I felt the best way all fitted for Margot was showing her denying her own feelings and putting a though face while reflecting on how things evolved into the mess they are now.
I also wanted the drawing to have a messy high school aesthetic, and ripped notebook sheets are the most overused thing to showcase that. I like that aesthetic a lot! It doesn’t fit with Break Umbrella, but I tried to put similar stuff on TMBD.
There will be more time to explore her issues in future arcs, so it would be interesting to revisit this drawing when we know more about her.
Would-Replay-Meter!
Just to remind you: this shows how much a character in the drawing would replay their favorite songs, or how much they would avoid their least favorite.
- If a character is in the green side of a song, they would replay it a lot.
- If a character is in the red side of a song, they would avoid it.
- The close a character is to either extreme, the more the song hits them (most of the times)

Because Margot would deny songs like these, I opted to not follow the “avoid” rule, as most of them fit her in different parts of the story that are yet to be shown, but Margot would not admit to connect with, so this time, is mostly on how much she liked them or connected with them.
The only reason “Gloria” is so low in comparison to others is that she never gets a “Gloria” to relate to.
Choosing outfits is fun (until it isn’t)
Margot is one of those characters I have more issues thinking of an outfit that fits her personality, the place she has lived in, her family background, and that is also comfortable for her fighting style, but that has also allowed me to experiment several outfits with her.
The one she has in this drawing was slightly based from a mix between one I used during my edgiest uni era (not proud of the era, but still proud of the outfit) and one I had during my “black and pink match way to well” era later.
I wanted to translate those two into how I think I would have used them if I were a woman, as Margot’s personality is currently the closest to mine among all main characters shown up until chapter 12. The only thing that would be different might be the heart in the t-shirt, as I prefer plain colors over logos/drawings/icons/text in my clothes.
On the last note I wrote for the previous entry, I considered this should count still as February’s entry. Not sure if I could get March’s this month, but I might rework the original drawing I had in mind for this.
As always, stay tuned and stay safe!
